Allelys,my heavy and general haulage company client, had their annual 2 day ISO9001 and ISO14001 Surveillance visit from ACS on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The 2 days went really well as the number of non compliances reported was down from 7 to 2 and there were only 6 Observations recorded; a marked improvement on last year. The major project for the next few months is to combine the ISO9001/14001 Management Manual and Procedures with the OHAS18001 systems to produce an integrated set of procedures and a single manual. This will reduce the overall external audit days for the 3 Standards as the external auditor will be able to record evidence for all 3 Standards in one visit to each area he audits.
I am finding more and more of my potential clients have no idea what the difference is between achieving certification to the ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 27001 Standards and getting accredited to those Standards. In many cases the customers who are asking my clients to achieve the Standards don’t understand either. I would be interested to find out other peoples experience of this misunderstanding.
I have had 3 new enquiries this week including 2 for ISO9001 and 1 for ISO9001 and ISO14001. I audited a client in Studley this week in preparation for their 3 day surveillance visit from ACS next Wednesday to Friday. Yesterday I did a 15 minute presentation to the Worcestershire Networking Hub at Kidderminster Harriers on what is involved in going for ISO9001 and ISO14001. Tuesday I went to a 4N networking meeting in Hagley at the Badger’s Sett and met 3 good contacts, I then went to the Top Barn Business Centre to be available to answer questions about the 2 Standards and then went on to meet the MD of Clearview Systems at the Elgar Business centre in Hallow where I was given a demonstration of their Strategic Managemnt and Business Intelligence Software support packages. Took a day off today to play golf at Cleobury and got well and truly drenched in a heavy downpour.
I shall be presenting a 15 minute resume of ISO9001 and ISO14001 at the Worcestershire Networking Business Hub (WBNH) breakfast meeting next Thursday at Kidderminster Harriers ground which meets 7.15-9.15am. It is intended to be an easy to understand talk about what is needed by companies if they are considering going for either or both of these Standards.
started the day with a good networking event at Severn Valley Railway Station where we given an insight into how to make better use of linkedin. I then spent the rest of the morning with my fabrication client in Redditch helping him edit the Operating Procedures and Quality Manual which I had prepared.Good progress has been made. Then spent first half of the afternoon producing a detailed design and development control procedure for my Redditch client. Following on from that I updated my Linledin Profile and alsocompleted a company page on linkedin. The most productive day of the week
